| Showdown at the Singapore Pools F.A. Cup Final 2008 | Back to e-News Archive |
Culminating after four months of intense competition involving 37 teams from the NTUC Income – YEO's Prime League and the National Football League (NFL), Singapore Armed Forces FC (SAFFC) from the Prime League faced off Katong FC from the NFP Division One in the Singapore Pools FA Cup Final. Both teams had finished in mid-table in their respective leagues and were looking to end their season on a high. In a match that was cheered on by a crowd of more than 1,200 excited fans including beneficiaries of Singapore Pools’ staff volunteer group, i-Shine, SAFFC won by a single goal when the match entered into extra time. As the winner of the Singapore Pools FA Cup, SAFFC took home S$7,000 while the runner-up received S$4,000. Currently in its 11th year, the Singapore Pools F.A. Cup was started by the Football Association of Singapore and Singapore Pools to connect Singaporeans with the football ground through their involvement in recreational and amateur football matches. Through these friendly matches, we hope to foster a spirit of corporate teamwork and harmony among the participants. ![]() For the results of what we do, visit http://www.singaporepools.com.sg/en/csr/place_and_project.html |
