Singapore Pools i-SHINE staff volunteers presented $340,000 to six charities at its ‘Fashion with a Heart’ Charity Dinner on 28 April 2011, at Livewire (Marina Bay Sands).
'Fashion with a Heart', conceptualised with fashion as its central theme, was the result of a successful collaboration between Singapore Pools i-SHINE staff volunteers, multi-label fashion house, AVANA, home-grown Chinese restaurant Peach Garden and Kingsmen Exhibits Pte Ltd to raise much needed funds for charity.
The six beneficiaries of 'Fashion with a Heart' were Ain Society, CRWH, PAP Community Foundation Headstart Fund, PPIS (Singapore Muslim Women’s Association), Society for the Physically Disabled and The New Paper Project Helping Hands. Singapore Pools also presented a donation cheque for $90,000 to the Community Chest, during the event. The money came from our initiative to ask our customers who fluttered with us during the 2010 World Cup season to donate to the Community Chest.
‘Fashion with a Heart’ is the latest in a series of fundraisers organised under the banner of i-SHINE, Singapore Pools’ Staff Community Programme. Since 2007, staff volunteers have raised over $1 million for President's Challenge and other charities.
