Led by Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tan Soo Nan, and members of senior management, Singapore Pools staff supported the first event under “Project We Care” a corporate volunteerism scheme by the People’s Association (PA) - a garden party at the Istana for needy Singaporeans on 8 Jan 2012.

President and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam were guests of honour at the event, jointly hosted by the PA and the chief executives of 31 companies. The picnic at the Istana, attended by about 1,500 people, hoped to bring festive cheer to the less privileged.

Singapore Pools hosted elderly residents from one of its beneficiaries, the Society Of The Aged Sick (SAS) at the event. The seniors enjoyed special activities, performances and a buffet of popular hawker fare. Another beneficiary of Singapore Pools’ Staff Community Programme, Metta School, put up a Chinese Orchestra performance to usher in the Chinese New Year. Some staff volunteers also helped in backstage artiste management.
