As a community partner of Clubilya, Singapore Pools supported its Youth Power Summer Camp 2009, held from 1 to 3 June 2009, with souvenirs for participants. These souvenirs were presented to the President of Clubilya, Mdm Muzaiyanah Hamzah by the Assistant Branch Manager of Singapore Pools' Yishun Central Branch, Ms Lye Meng Ling, on the morning of 28 May 2009.
Established in 2004, Clubilya is a non-profit organisation focusing on youth development and affairs. Its mission is to influence all youths, regardless of ethnicity, religion and social background, to be socially responsible and to equip them with good values and life skills for them to eventually be economically independent and contribute their best to society.
The Youth Power Summer Camp 2009 was Clubilya's first residential camp for 40 youth-on-the-brink-of-success from all over Singapore. 14 to 16 year olds from various ethnicities were drawn from youth organisations for this 3-day and 2-night camp. It sought to meet the goals of enhanced personal development for the participants and facilitation of capacity building for community involvement.
In mid 2008, Clubilya became the first beneficiary of Singapore Pools' pilot project, "Housing Of Community Services At Pools". Singapore Pools provided space at the second level of its Yishun Central Branch to house Clubilya’s Youth Centre and Headquarters on a rent-free basis. The housing of worthy community services at the second-level of Singapore Pools branches is an initiative of Singapore Pools to utilize its available resources in a meaningful way.
