- Responsible Gaming is a key corporate strategy endorsed by all our stakeholders (Government, Shareholder) and championed by the Board of Directors and Senior Management.
- Our Corporate Mission Statement
- We are a socially responsible and innovative gaming company, helping to improve the well-being of the community by investing in programmes that have significant and relevant outcomes.
- We shall achieve this through a deep understanding of our customers and the needs of the community, through efficient outcome funding and multi-cultural sensitivity, and by being socially responsible.
- We have designated departments for responsible gaming research and planning, and communications.
- We have established a Code of Conduct on Responsible Gaming and a Marketing Communications Code of Conduct to guide our operations.
- Right responsible gaming behaviour and values are key factors in our staff performance appraisal and rewards system.
- We imbue staff with socially responsible values through iSHINE, our staff community volunteerism programme.
- We allocate 1.6% of total manpower costs per annum towards staff training, in line with our national average.
- We broaden our experience and knowledge of responsible gaming practices by:
- Establishing an International Advisory panel to advise Pools on global developments.
- Engaging international established organizations focusing on responsible gaming (example GamCare (UK), Australasian Gaming Council) on our responsible gaming practices.
- Researching into responsible gaming practices of other socially sensitive industries such as tobacco and alcohol.
- Conducting pilot tests on new products and services before roll-out.
- Participating in local and overseas conferences, seminars and workshops on responsible gaming and other industry-related developments and subjects.
- Our success has been built on our Responsible Gaming philosophy; this philosophy underpins the way we conduct our business.
- With globalization, we have put in place processes and practices (International Advisory Panel, international review) and will continue to establish higher RG standards. These changes are in response to changing community values arising from the global market place.
