Project SPHERE stands for Students, Singapore Pools and HDB Enriching and Reaching Out to the Elderly. This is a joint initiative between Singapore Pools, Tote Board, Housing Development Board and the Ministry of Education.
Since its inception in 2002, Project SPHERE has benefitted about 97,110 elderly residents from over 108 rental blocks. About 131,115 students have participated and organised close to 3,200 activities for the elderly. Singapore Pools and Tote Board have contributed more than $1 million since the start of Project SPHERE.
Singapore Pools staff also volunteers alongside students in spring-cleaning and engagement activities for the needy elderly. Since 2011, 288 Singapore Pools volunteers have reached out to more than 456 needy elderly alongside 1,082 students.
