Singapore, 29 Oct 2018 – With effect from 7 Jan 2019, Singapore Pools, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tote Board, will take over the management and operations of horse betting from Singapore Turf Club, which is also owned by Tote Board. This change will include Singapore Pools taking over the betting outlets at the Singapore Racecourse in Kranji and all Off-Course Betting centres. Singapore Pools will also take over iTote, the remote horse betting application service.

The consolidation of betting operations is part of a regular review of business operations in Tote Board Group, to achieve synergies and improve cost efficiencies.

Existing customers of Singapore Turf Club and Singapore Pools will not be affected.  There will be no changes with regards to customers' access to horse race betting channels via retail and remote platforms.

Singapore Turf Club will focus on its core competency in managing and providing high quality horseracing.

Mr Seah Chin Siong, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Pools said "The highest level of rigor and accountability in social safeguards and responsible gaming measures will be maintained with the consolidation of betting activities."  Singapore Pools currently holds the highest level of recognition in the World Lottery Association's responsible gaming framework, for achieving stringent responsible gaming standards meted out by the international lottery industry.

The surpluses from the gaming operations of the Tote Board Group are channelled back to the community through Tote Board's grantmaking programmes, in line with Tote Board's mission to Uplift the Community by Giving Hope to the vulnerable groups and Improving Lives of all in Singapore.
