340 employee volunteers will be involved in a community event for close to 300 beneficiaries at Gardens by the Bay


Singapore, 4 May 2023 –Singapore Pools will kick off its 55th Anniversary celebrations with the Singapore Pools Community Day 2023. All Singapore Pools branches island-wide will be closed for half-day from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Tuesday, 9 May 2023 to enable employee volunteers to give back to the community. Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information will be gracing the event to be held at Gardens by the Bay.

The Singapore Pools Community Day 2023 is specially curated to enable close to 300 beneficiaries from 14 community partners to enjoy a day out at Gardens by the Bay with games and engagement activities along walking trails enhanced with Augmented Reality elements. Organised in conjunction with Singapore Pools’ 55th Anniversary, the Singapore Pools Community Day 2023 is an extension of our giving efforts and commitment towards uplifting disadvantaged communities. Singapore Pools is a Digital for Life (DfL) partner and has worked with other DfL partners to support initiatives that help seniors learn about digital literacy. Using Augmented Reality, Singapore Pools hopes to continue supporting the DfL movement, to excite participants, especially seniors, with the possibilities brought about by technology and encourage them to continue advancing on the digital journey.


Singapore Pools Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lam Chee Weng said, "Through this event and together with Singapore Pools volunteers, we hope to bring fun and the outdoors to the beneficiaries from Social Service Agencies such as AMKFSC, Filos Community Services, Metta Welfare Association, Society for the Aged Sick, NKF, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities, Loving Heart, among others. At Singapore Pools, contributing to society is core to our purpose, and volunteering has been a big part of our corporate culture.”

This is the second time in Singapore Pools’ history that it is closing its outlets for half a day on a regular day of operations for a community programme.
