Members of the only women's team in the 'Football With A Heart' (FWAH) executive football event were introduced on 14 August 2012, during the FWAH Networking Night held at Livewire (Marina Bay Sands).
The AdsiteMedia Women's Team was greeted with loud cheers from the 130 guests, made up of representatives from the 28 participating teams and co-organisers, Singapore Pools i-SHINE volunteers, Singapore Recreation Club (SRC), Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and Singapore Sports Council (SSC).
With less than two weeks to the event, the Networking Night was a timely opportunity for the teams to familiarize with the tournament rules and format of play, and catch up on other important information for the actual event on 25 August 2012
Mr Zainudin Nordin, President of the FAS, launched the event with the good news that FWAH had raised over S350,000 for charity. He also updated that the SSC was elevated from "Top Scorer" Team to Co-organiser, and introduced two new donors – AdsiteMedia and Vanguard Interiors.
This was followed by the tournament draw, which determined the group and schedule of play for each participating organization. Mr Ridzal Saat, Deputy Director of Marketing & Competitions from the FAS, went on to conduct a brief on tournament matters, while Dr Abdul Rashid, General Manager of the SRC provided a brief on matters outside of the tournament.
Another highlight of the event was the sharing of football tips by former National Player, Mr Quah Kim Song. The evening ended on a fun note as guests participated enthusiastically in two games – "Goal or No Goal!" and the "Toto Fun Game".
All teams will meet again on 25 August 2012 (Saturday) for the FWAH showdown. Supporters and members of the public are welcome to come down to The Padang @SRC, cheer on the teams, enjoy a fun-filled carnival and participate in the FWAH Facebook photo contest.
