More than 1,000 participants from 58 organisations came together for Football With A Heart (FWAH) 2015, Singapore’s largest corporate five-a-side football fundraising event, held on 31 Jan at Jalan Besar Stadium.

Corporate teams from diverse industries such as IT, F&B, Hospitality and Finance played over two tournament sessions in fine weather. Team NCS was crowned morning champion after overcoming Team Oracle 2-1 in the morning tournament. Defending champion Team OCBC defeated Team Deloitte 3-1 in the final match to become the afternoon champion.

In the Celebrity Tournament, Team Japanese Association, Singapore, seized the Champion title from the Parliament Team, Team ASME and the Public Service Team. Team SportCares took home the Youth Tournament Champion title after conquering the game against Blue Xephos from Delta League in the finals.

Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister of Manpower, graced the occasion and met with corporate representatives at the FWAH Corporate Partners Networking Lunch. He also dropped by the pitch to speak with footballers.

There was something for everyone as footballers and their supporters took part in photo lucky draws and Team Supporters Contests. Cheerleaders from Goodrich Global, Raffles Medical Group, Great Eastern, SportCares and FAS United were Team Supporter winners after wowing judges with their cheers, props and energy!

To round up FWAH 2015, a Celebratory Dinner was held on 4 Feb at the National Museum. His Excellency, President Tony Tan Keng Yam, was the Guest-of-Honour. A highlight of the evening was the opening performance by Fernvale Gardens School, one of FWAH’s beneficiaries. Students with intellectual disabilities impressed dinner guests with a vibrant and fun dance routine.

Over $768,000 worth of donation cheques were presented at the event to Bo Tien Welfare Services Society, Care Community Services Society, CARE United, Children’s Charities Association of Singapore, Peace-Connect Neighbourhood Link, President’s Challenge 2014, Singapore Cancer Society, Society for the Physically Disabled, SportCares Foundation, and Sunshine Welfare Action Mission Home (SWAMI).
