October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Singapore
Pools hosted the Breast Cancer Foundation to spread the awareness on breast
cancer to the public as part of the venue sponsorship. The foundation was at
Livewire@Singapore Pools every Monday for October and sold their signature pink ribbon pins and
encouraged the public to wear them as a symbol that they can be part of the
movement to spread the importance of early detection and breast screening
“We are happy to be given this outreach
opportunity by Singapore Pools ever year. It is through collaborations like
this that we can amplify the message that women need to take charge of their
health by going for regular screening and that early detection saves lives,
saves breasts,” David Fong, General Manager, Breast Cancer
Foundation.
Venue Sponsorship Programme
is an initiative to support worthy programmes by community group. The community
groups can utilise Singapore’s facilities for events at low or no cost. Since
its inception in 2011, over 50 community groups have benefitted from this
programme.
