28 staff volunteers from iCARE, one of the teams under iShine, Singapore Pools' staff community programme, partnered staff from Metta Welfare Association in their fundraising efforts during the Metta Charity Movie Screening of Disney Pixar’s Toy Story at Shaw Lido Cinema on 23 June 2019.

The volunteers gathered hours before the screening to place the goodie bags inside the cinema halls. When the beneficiaries arrived at the cinema, the volunteers distributed popcorn and drinks to them. They also joined the beneficiaries at the movie screening.

The Metta School is part of the Metta Welfare Association, an adopted charity by iCARE since 2003. The school provides special education to mildly intellectually disabled and autistic children.

“Some of the best memories are made when one helps out in an iShine event and notices all the happy faces. It certainly made my day by spending time volunteering with like-minded colleagues on a Sunday afternoon,” said Angie Ng, an iCARE volunteer.
