LIAONING CARRY THE SINCHI TORCH
Liaoning – formed through a partnership between Chinese Super League side Liaoning Football Club and sponsor Shanghai Guangyuan Company – have set their sights on a top-half finish in their debut season.

Liaoning’s parent team have performed consistently well in the Chinese Super League and are well known for their youth development system, with several Chinese national team players like Li Tie – currently plying his trade at Sheffield United – Xu Liang and Zheng Zhi coming through the ranks.

However, after the disappointment of previous China side Sinchi, who played in the S-League from 2003 to 2005 and promised so much, caution is the best virtue until they prove themselves, especially since they have recruited former Sinchi coach Ding Zhe and players Chen Bo and Yao Li in their squad.
