DOLPHINS RIDING CONFIDENT WAVE
Last season, Sengkang finished bottom with just four victories, five points below nearest rivals Geylang.
Despite that, Trevor Morgan did not dip his hands much into the local transfer market, bringing in Mohd Mardani and Suriyandi Naib as his only major signings. But don’t expect the Dolphins to end up with just 18 points this season.
After playing the part of whipping boys last term, the Dolphins have proven that their assault on the 2007 season will be entirely different after reaching the final of the SingTel Cup.
Their new foreign signings, New Zealanders Ross McKenzie, Cole Tinkler and African striker Paul Bekombo Ekollo, have changed the outlook of the team and brought in renewed energy into the club.If Sengkang can produce the same level of performance they showed in their victories over Balestier and Gombak, they could well be the surprise package this season.
