Singapore's gardening movement not only beautifies the neighbourhood, but is also enjoying steady growth.  More than 430 community gardens took part in the Community In Bloom Awards 2016, organised as part of the Singapore Garden Festival 2016. Singapore Pools is one of the Gold Sponsors for the Festival.  Marking its 10th edition this year, it is the largest one ever, with tropical horticulture and floral artistry spread across 9.7 hectares at Gardens by the Bay from 23 to 31 July 2016.

With many highlights to explore, the Festival was an event not to be missed. So on July 28, staff volunteers from Singapore Pools took 100 senior citizens from O'Joy Care Services, a voluntary welfare organization providing aged-care programmes, on an outing to experience and enjoy the beautiful floral creations that portrayed Singapore as a "City In A Garden".

Despite the capricious weather that day, the senior citizens had a wonderful time throughout, happily immersed in the variety of flora and fauna around them as they toured both indoor and outdoor exhibitions.

Said Ms Joan Sim, one of Singapore Pools' staff volunteers: "The elderly were so full of life, walking tirelessly while taking photos with their favorite floral displays. They shared with us tips on growing plants and vegetables, and spoke fondly about the old days when food was all farmed by themselves!"

As a Gold sponsor for this year's Singapore Garden Festival, Singapore Pools was the Presenter for the "Community In Bloom" exhibition, in support of the gardening efforts by community groups in public and private housing estates, educational institutions and organisations across the nation.
