Mr Lam Chee Weng, Singapore Pools’ Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed as co-chairman of the Responsible Gambling Forum (RGF) by The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) from 1 June 2020 to 31 May 2023.

 

Established by MSF on 1 June 2013, the RGF brings together 16 representatives, comprising of industry and community leaders, to enhance the responsible gaming practices across all forms of gambling in Singapore.

 

The Forum seeks to develop a shared understanding and ownership with regards to societal concerns on responsible and problem gambling between the community and the gambling industry. Since its inception, the RGF has actively promoted awareness on responsible gambling efforts, recommend responsible gambling initiatives and measures to be implemented by the industry, as well as monitor, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of such practices in Singapore.

 

Mr Lam’s appointment to the RGF demonstrates the industry’s recognition of Singapore Pools’ contribution. Singapore Pools has been a major contributor and advocate for safer play. In 2012, the company was awarded the highest level of certification - Level 4 Certification of the World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework (RGF). Singapore Pools was re-certified in 2015 and 2019 respectively, a testament to its steadfast commitment in upholding a responsible play environment in the gambling industry.
