​​We are looking for a passionate and professional Technical Officer to join our Broadcasting team to support in delivering live overseas horse racing events from countries offered by Singapore Pools (SPPL) to customers.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Assistant Manager, the incumbent's responsibilities involve ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems and equipment related to broadcasting and streaming activities.

What You'll Do

  • You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of technical equipment, including but not limited to sound systems, video cameras, and communication systems.
  • You will provide technical support at the Broadcast Operations Centre during horse racing daily operations, live/delayed lottery draws, and other events organized by SPPL.
  • You will provide support in systems testing as and when required.
  • You will prepare and respond to emergencies or technical failures during daily operations, to ensure minimum disruptions to the operations.
  • You will assist in the setup and configuration of technical equipment for daily operations where applicable.
  • You will ensure systems are operational and meet safety standards.
  • You will monitor technical systems to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions.
  • You will ensure all technical systems and equipment comply with safety standards.
  • You will conduct safety inspections and report any safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • You will maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • You will document equipment performance and issues for reference and reporting.
  • You will manage and track inventory of technical equipment and spare parts.
  • You will replenish supplies as needed and ensure equipment is readily available when required.
  • You will provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use and maintenance of technical equipment.
  • You will liaise closely with third party vendors, service providers, and operators, ensuring all broadcast systems and services are of professional standards and quality,
  • You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate technical support to ensure smooth daily operations with minimal disruptions.
  • You will support the preparation and tracking of department's annual budget to ensure the section operates within approved budget parameters.
  • You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand, develop, and execute joint projects to ensure broadcasting optimization and delivery.
  • You will perform any other duties as assigned to support Broadcasting Operations.

 

Who You Are

  • You will need minimum NITEC in Broadcast Production/Electronics or related.
  • You will need at least 2 years related experience in AV setup/broadcast studio/‘live’ production/electronics/video/maintenance or related.
  • Knowledge and experience in live-streaming pre/post production is an advantage.
  • You should have technical knowledge of broadcast electronics, outdoor filming and television production.
  • You should be able to diagnose and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts promptly.
  • You should be proficient in operating various types of broadcast equipment, such as swithcers, serves, video/audio mixers, and character generator systems.
  • You should have knowledge of production technicality.
  • You should be skilled in setting up, installation and maintenance of AV systems.
  • You should be proficient in videography and video editing software.
  • You should have good communication skills with team members, presenters, and other broadcast personnnel.
  • You should be a good team player with a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure. 
  • You should be able to work rotating shift hours, including weekends and PH, to provide 24/7 support.
