Singapore, 17 August 2025 – Weekend With A Heart (WWAH) 2025, a two-day community event organised by Singapore Pools, wrapped up on a high note raising $1,226,400 for seven local charities. Held on 16 and 17 August at National Stadium, the event brought together over 10,000 participants, including corporate teams, families, youth, and volunteers – all coming together in a powerful show of unity and compassion.
WWAH was organised in collaboration with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), Sport Singapore (SportSG), Mediacorp CLASS 95, Singapore Children’s Society, and supported by grant partner Tote Board and venue partner Singapore Sports Hub. The inaugural two-day community festival was held in celebration of the nation’s SG60 commemorations — an initiative that united the public, private, and people sectors in a national expression of inclusion, compassion, and community spirit.

At the core of WWAH was the 10th edition of Football With A Heart (FWAH) — Singapore’s largest executive football charity tournament. First conceived by Singapore Pools in 2012, FWAH is a cross-sector initiative that leverages sport as a force for good. Since its inception, it has mobilised more than 15,000 participants, raising S$8.7 million for 57 charities and social enterprises to date.
Day 1 Highlights: Football, Esports, and Community Spirit
Saturday’s programme opened with the FWAH corporate futsal tournament, where 56 teams competed in a dynamic display of teamwork and camaraderie. The Cup category title was clinched by SingTel after an exciting final match.
Adding to the day’s vibrancy were charity round-robin matches featuring Parliamentarians and ex-national football legends like Baihakki Khaizan, Jeremy Chiang and Fandi Ahmad. Among the Parliamentarian players were Mr Seah Kian Peng, Mr Jeffrey Siow and Mr Pritam Singh. Youth engagement took centre stage in the afternoon with spirited matches across the U18, U21 and Women’s divisions. The day concluded with Mediacorp's CLASS 95 Mega Movie Party, drawing close to 3,000 attendees for a magical night of film, fun, and nostalgia. Mr David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Senior Minister of State for Education, officiated Saturday’s events as Guest-of-Honour.
More than 25 teams also battled it out in a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang TeleMatch, adding a dynamic, youth-centric dimension to the weekend. This was held in partnership with social enterprise COMEBACK to promote mental wellness, acknowledging the digital lives of young people while steering them toward healthy, pro-social forms of play.
Day 2 Highlights: Wellness, Family Bonding and Giving Back
Sunday continued the momentum with a focus on wellness and intergenerational connection. The morning began with Singapore Children’s Society’s annual flagship event, Walk for Our Children. Themed "Creating Safe Spaces, One Connection at a Time," the event highlighted the power of everyday interactions in nurturing strong, supportive relationships that empower children and youth to thrive.
Families also came together for the WWAH Family Challenge, which featured relays and movement-based games designed to encourage bonding through play. Seniors were engaged through the "Golden Years" programme, featuring mass workouts and live performances promoting healthy and active ageing.
Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, flagged off the morning charity walk, while Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, officiated the Family Challenge, reaffirming the event’s emphasis on inclusivity and wellbeing.
Mr Lam Chee Weng, chief executive officer of Singapore Pools said, "What began as a football charity tournament in 2012 has grown into a national movement of compassion, inclusion and giving. Weekend With A Heart is a powerful reminder that when communities, corporates, and causes come together, we can create lasting impact. As we celebrate SG60 and the 10th edition of Football With A Heart, we remain committed to building a more inclusive and caring Singapore — one partnership at a time."
All funds raised will support seven beneficiaries, each playing a vital role in advancing inclusion, empowerment and social resilience: APSN Ltd, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore, Hugs Community Services, New Hope Community Services, SportCares, Unlocking ADHD and Yong En Care Centre.
Mr Cheang Sai Ming, deputy director for Communications and Partnerships, APSN, added, "Every dollar donated to APSN is an investment in human potential. Funds directly support our vocational training and job support programmes, equipping individuals with mild intellectual disabilities with the skills and confidence to secure employment and thrive. This funding is critical to maintaining our job retention rate of over 90% and empowering our beneficiaries to lead meaningful, independent lives."
