In the months of June and July, Singapore Pools iShine volunteers reached out to students, disadvantaged children as well as the young at heart, engaging them through enriching activities.

Clip n' Climb

On 6 Jun 2017, iShine Team SportFrenz organised a thrilling Clip n' Climb sports adventure at Home Team NS Tampines for 20 students from Hougang Students Care Service.  "Many were initially apprehensive about climbing 19 walls of varying heights and difficulty. However with support and encouragement, the students overcame their fears. It was truly fulfilling to see them scale the heights. " shared Richard Tan, the Assistant Team Leader of SportFrenz.

Castles Can Fly

10 days later, iShine Team Tender, Love & Care (TL&C) helped to organize a sand castle building workshop at East Coast Park for 22 kids from Singapore Children's Society's Sunbeam Place. Besides enjoying the sun, sand and sea during the school holidays, the kids also learnt about teamwork, planning and perseverance, as they translated their sandcastle visions into reality. Through this activity, the kids also learnt that they could shape their own futures.

Silver IT Fest

iShine Team Pals for Active Living (p.a.l.) supported the Silver IT Fest organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The volunteers guided the senior citizens  in navigating their computers, smartphones and tablets to access social media, news and many more on 2 Jul 17. "I'm moved by their enthusiasm to learn and am glad to lend a helping hand," reflected Jessica Lee, an iShine volunteer.

Walk for Our Children 2017

Come 30 Jul 17, Team TL&C would like to invite everyone to join Singapore Pools at the annual Singapore Children Society's Walk for Our Children event at Chinese Garden. Besides the walk, there will be food and game booths coupled with other fun activities. Our iShine volunteers will be selling drinks and cookies made by beneficiaries from Metta Welfare Association to raise funds for charity.

iShine

Believing that an emotional connection to good causes and caring for the community will help to build positive character and inculcate strong personal values among our employees, Singapore Pools promotes and supports our staff volunteerism programme called iShine. It is our belief that staff who are committed to doing good will naturally care for the people they serve – our customers.
