Terms and Conditions of the Pools Membership Programme

The Pools Membership Programme is managed and operated by Singapore Pools (Private) Limited. Members of the Pools Membership Programme will enjoy benefits and privileges offered by Singapore Pools (Private) Limited.

The Pools Membership Programme shall be governed by the terms and conditions as set out herein, as may be amended from time to time ("Terms and Conditions").

  1. Definitions

    For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned to them respectively.

    "Affiliate" means with respect to any legal entity, any other entity or organisation that directly or indirectly through one or more intermediaries controls, is controlled by or is under common control with that legal entity.

    "Membership Fee" means the membership fee payable by the Members for the Programme as may be prescribed by SPPL from time to time.

    "Member" means an individual who is a registered member of the Programme, and "Members" shall be construed accordingly.

    "Membership Card" means the membership card that will be issued upon successful application to the Programme.

    "Programme" means the Pools Membership Programme.

    "Singapore Pools Account" means the remote betting account opened with SPPL to facilitate the placing of bets through the use of remote communications, including without limitation, the Internet, mobile or any other kind of electronic or technology facilitating communication.

    "SPPL" means Singapore Pools (Private) Limited.

    "SPPL House Rules" means the house rules of SPPL, as may be amended, supplemented and substituted from time to time. For your reference, the SPPL House Rules can be accessed at Game Rules and Terms & Conditions | Singapore Pools.

    "Privacy Policy" means the personal data protection and privacy policy of SPPL, as may be amended, supplemented and substituted from time to time. For your reference, the Privacy Policy can be accessed at personal_data_privacy_protection_policy.pdf(singaporepools.com.sg).

  2. Membership Application

    1. To apply for membership, you must submit a duly completed application form to SPPL in the manner as prescribed by SPPL from time to time.

    2. SPPL reserves the right to reject your application at its sole discretion without having to provide any reason(s).

  3. Membership Fee

    1. The Membership Fee(s) for the Programme is set out on the official website of SPPL at https://online.singaporepools.com/en/horseracing/membership.

    2. You must pay the Membership Fee in the manner and within the time period prescribed by SPPL.

    3. SPPL may review and revise the Membership Fee(s) at any time from time to time.

  4. Membership Card

    1. The Membership Card will be issued to you upon successful application and full payment of the Membership Fee. The Membership Card issued by SPPL may be physical and/or digital.

    2. The Membership Card is for your personal use only and is non-transferrable.

    3. You are responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of your Membership Card. Any misuse of the Membership Card or its related benefits and privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership, or withdrawal of benefits and privileges.

    4. In the event that your Membership Card is lost, stolen or used by another person, you shall immediately notify SPPL.

    5. SPPL has the full discretion to disallow replacement of the Membership Card, or to charge a replacement fee.

    6. The Membership Card is the property of SPPL and must be returned to SPPL upon the expiry of the Membership Card or the termination of the membership.

  5. Membership Benefits and Privileges

    1. As a Member, you will be entitled to enjoy such benefits and privileges as may be determined by SPPL from time to time. The list of the benefits and privileges available under the Programme for the time being will be published on the official website of SPPL at https://online.singaporepools.com/en/horseracing/membership.

    2. Admission to any premises of SPPL or events hosted by SPPL shall be subject to the operating hours, capacity and admission rules of such premise or event.

    3. You must present your Membership Card in order to redeem applicable membership benefits and privileges, including admission to any designated premises or events which are exclusive to the Members. SPPL may decide, at its sole discretion, to not provide any benefits and privileges to Members who do not possess or present a valid Membership Card.

    4. SPPL has the right to add, remove or vary any benefits and privileges under the Programme at any time without notice (including, but not limited to, changing the location, size and facilities of the designated premises which are exclusive to the Members). You will not be entitled to any compensation or refund of the Membership Fee arising from any change in the benefits and privileges offered under the Programme.

  6. Conduct and Responsibilities

    1. As a Member, you must comply with the SPPL House Rules and these Terms and Conditions.

    2. You must avoid engaging in any illegal or undesirable activities at the premises or events of SPPL, including, but not limited to:

      1. any act prohibited by law;

      2. any act, verbal or physical, affecting public order;

      3. any conduct affecting the safety of any person;

      4. any conduct affecting the good name of SPPL and/or its betting operations.

  7. Termination of Membership

    1. Your membership is valid for the period stated on your Membership Card.

    2. You may terminate your membership at any time by giving 30 days' written notice to SPPL. The Membership Fee paid will be non-refundable. Any refund of the Member Fee (or part thereof) is at the sole discretion of SPPL.

    3. SPPL shall have the right to suspend and/or terminate your membership immediately, without any refund of the Membership Fee paid, in any of the following events:

      1. you are involved in any bet placement for illegal purposes, suspicious transactions, or other fraudulent or illegal activities;

      2. you are convicted of any criminal offence;

      3. you are declared a bankrupt;

      4. you have been served with an operator exclusion notice by SPPL or a prohibition notice by the Singapore Turf Club;

      5. you are in breach of any of the SPPL House Rules and/or these Terms and Conditions;

      6. you have provided misleading or false information in the application for membership;

      7. you fail to respond in a timely or satisfactory manner upon any reasonable request by SPPL for further information and documents;

      8. the termination of your Singapore Pools Account.

    4. In addition to SPPL's rights under Section 7(c) above, SPPL may suspend or terminate your membership at any time without having to give any reasons or notice.

    5. Upon termination of membership, all benefits and privileges shall cease.

  8. Cessation of the Programme

    SPPL may cease the entire Programme at any time for any reason. In such an event, you will be notified in advance and shall be entitled to a refund of the Membership Fee pro-rated calculated based on the remaining months of the membership at the date of the cessation.

  9. Personal Data and Marketing Consent

    1. The Privacy Policy shall apply to all personal data that is provided to SPPL in relation to the Programme.

    2. By submitting your personal data to SPPL pursuant to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to the collection, use, processing and disclosure of such personal data by SPPL in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and our Privacy Policy.

    3. In addition to the purposes set out in the Privacy Policy, SPPL may collect, use and disclose your personal data to:

      1. assess and process your membership application;

      2. administer the Programme;

      3. provide benefits, support, services and information offered under the Programme;

      4. any person that SPPL in good faith considers to be appropriate for the purpose of providing services to the Member, including any agents or contractors of SPPL; and

      5. for any other purposes reasonably necessary, ancillary or related to the aforesaid.

    4. Further, by becoming a Member, you are deemed to have consented to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes. This includes putting your name and contact details on marketing lists for the purposes of customer research or developing or making offers to you (by mail, email or telephone) about the products and/or services offered by SPPL.

    5. You may withdraw your consent in regard to the use and disclosure of your personal data at any time by giving written notice to SPPL. SPPL reserves the right to terminate your membership if the withdrawal of your consent relates to the use or disclosure of your personal data that is reasonably necessary for purposes of providing products and/or services to you under the Programme.

  10. Limitation of Liability

    1. SPPL shall not be liable to you for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from the termination of the membership, Programme and/or the related benefits and privileges, or any changes to them.

    2. The use of the benefits and privileges by you under this Programme, including the entry into any premises or events of SPPL, is at your own risk. SPPL shall not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss, accident, damage or personal injury sustained by you in connection with the use of the benefits and privileges under this Programme or whilst you are on the premises of SPPL.

    3. SPPL's liability with respect to any claim arising in respect of any acts or omissions of SPPL arising from and in connection with the Programme shall be limited to the Membership Fee paid by the Member.

  11. Variation or Modification

    1. SPPL reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued participation in the Programme shall be regarded as acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, as amended.

    2. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, certain offers, products or services may also be subject to additional terms, guidelines, rules or fees which may be posted, communicated or modified by SPPL at any time. Your use of any such offers, products or services shall be subject to those additional terms and conditions, which are hereby incorporated by reference into these Terms and Conditions, provided that in the event of any conflict between such additional terms and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

  12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.

    2. The courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions, including their validity and enforceability.

  13. Notice

    1. Any notification or communication will be sent to you based on your contact information in SPPL's records. You are responsible for keeping your personal and contact information (which includes your mobile number, mailing address and email address) up-to-date. Any communication sent to you will be regarded as delivered when posted. SPPL will not be responsible for any delayed, misdirected or lost mail.

    2. Any notification or communication to SPPL shall be made to the contact provided on the official website of SPPL at https://www.singaporepools.com.sg/en/cu/Pages/default.aspx.
