On 1
September 2020, Singapore Pools welcomed 14 trainees into its family under the
SGUnited Traineeship programme. The SGUnited Traineeship Programme was
initiated by the Singapore Government to help recent graduates gain employment
amidst a soft job market due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The
Traineeship will enable these graduates to acquire valuable industry-relevant
experience, develop skills through on-jobs training and expand their
professional networks. This will in turn provide them a firmer foothold in the
job market once the economy recovers.
Over the
next 12 months, they would experience a unique career journey in Singapore
Pools that champions a learning culture; aided by a team mentor to develop
their learning roadmap to help them achieve their fullest potential. Besides a
robust onboarding programme, trainees are also given opportunities to volunteer
and serve communities; to live up to the raison d’etre of the company - the community at the heart of all they do.
Said Cao
Ming Ming, a new trainee attached to the Community Partnerships and
Communications division, “I was excited to join the team at Singapore Pools as
I knew that there is a strong company culture associated to uplifting the
community.”
