Serangoon Central Village (Blk 267 Serangoon Avenue 3) has returned, offering residents a refreshed wet market and a youth-centric community space that bring new energy and vibrancy to the neighbourhood. Singapore Pools, appointed as the master tenant, played an active role in planning and executing the revamp, ensuring the space caters to residents' daily needs while fostering stronger social connections.
A Name Inspired by the Community
In collaboration with Braddell Heights Community Club, a public naming contest attracted over 130 submissions. The winning name,
Serangoon Central Village, was proposed by Braddell Heights resident Mr Lee Soon Juay and selected by the judging panel.
Inspired by the kampung spirit, Mr Lee envisioned a name that would unite residents at the heart of Serangoon and nurture close neighbourly ties.
When Design Meets Heritage
Visitors are invited to explore the meaningful murals and specially designed wallpaeper at the wet market ceiling and the walls of Hub With A Heart (HWAH) @ Serangoon. These visual elements trace Serangoon's journey from a lush agricultural landscape to the vibrant neighbourhood it is today.

Drawing inspiration from old maps of “Sa-Ranggong," this piece reflects an earlier, more tranquil Serangoon

A glimpse into Serangoon's agricultural past, illustrated on the walls of Hub With A Heart @ Serangoon
Drawing from old maps of “Sa-Ranggong" and the birds that once inhabited its wetlands, the purple heron symbolises Serangoon's natural past connecting to its urban present. Illustrations of crops such as coconut, rubber, and pineapple reflect the area's farming heritage, while familiar plants like bougainvillea and ixora represent the greenery that still thrives in the neighbourhood. Together, these elements celebrate Serangoon's heritage, resilience, and enduring community spirit.
Revitalising the Wet Market
The wet market is bustling once again, with returning and new stallholders offering a wide variety of fresh produce, including live seafood, poultry, fruits, and vegetables.
Improvements to layout, cleanliness, and overall ambience have created a more welcoming and comfortable environment for both shoppers and stallholders. The reopening, timed ahead of Lunar New Year, has been especially meaningful for residents. Many are delighted to see a new generation of stallholders stepping forward to continue family legacies.

Rooted in Community: Support from Residents and the Speaker
The creation of Serangoon Central Village has been made possible through the strong support of Speaker Mr Seah Kian Peng, whose advocacy highlights the importance of shared spaces in strengthening community bonds. We are also grateful to residents for their continued support, as we continue to build a more connected and caring neighbourhood.
