In celebration of our 57th anniversary, Singapore Pools dedicated an entire week to giving back to the community. Through Community Week 2025, our staff came together in the spirit of service, clocking over 600 volunteering hours in just five days. It was a time of meaningful engagement with our charity partners, full of joy, connection, and purpose.

19 May 2025 – A Fulfilling Day Out with Seniors

Together with TOUCH Community Services, our volunteers befriended some 300 seniors for a full day of discovery and bonding. The experience began with a scenic ride on the Singapore Flyer, offering breathtaking views of the city, followed by a serene River Cruise that allowed everyone to unwind and connect with one another.

Singapore Pools has been one of our key strategic partners," shared Alvin Ong, Deputy Head of TOUCH Active Aging. “We are grateful for all the awesome volunteers who brought our seniors out for a fun day of bonding. From sponsoring activities to fundraising efforts, these definitely bring cheers to the lives of our seniors."

20 May 2025 – Showcasing charities

To mark our 57th birthday, we turned our headquarters into a vibrant community hub.

Eleven charity partners - including Playeum, HCSA Community Services, HUGS Community Services, SHINE Children and Youth Services, Yong-en Care Centre, Children's Aid Society, Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, TOUCH Community Services, Faith Music Centre, MINDS and ART:DIS - joined us to showcase their inspiring work through hands-on activities and storytelling.

A highlight of the day was the appearance of therapy dogs from HUGS Community Services, part of their HUG's Healer Programme. The heartwarming interactions brought joy and comfort to all who attended.

Chia Kun Liang, Lead of Communications and Fundraising at Playeum, shared: “We're grateful for the opportunity to be at Singapore Pools to share the work we do in empowering children through creativity and play. It's a meaningful chance to engage staff, highlight our impact, and involve them in activities that reflect our playful approach."

Andrew Ong, Director of Partnerships and Strategic Communications at HCSA Community Services, added: “Very heartened to be alongside different charities as well, and more heartened because I'm very thankful that we have a corporate partner in Singapore Pools that is dedicated and committed to serve the community alongside charities for bigger impact."

21 May 2025 – Hair for Hope Satellite Event

In support of the Children's Cancer Foundation, Singapore Pools hosted our second run of Hair for Hope satellite event, pledging $200 for every participant. 86 brave individuals, staff and members of the public, stepped up to shave their heads in solidarity with children battling cancer.

Toh Teng Xuan, returning for his second shave, shared: “Being able to help children from Children's Cancer Foundation is what inspires me to come back yearly. To me, image doesn't matter. The hair will grow back."

We also spoke with Michael, a first-time Hair for Hope participant. He shared, “It's something I've been wanting to do. It's one of the items on my bucket list." He also offered words of encouragement: “Be strong and always know that we are here to support you."

22 May 2025 – Befriending and Giving Back to the communities we care

We continued our outreach with another meaningful day of engagement, beginning with quality time spent with the seniors in the morning.

In the afternoon, volunteers accompanied seniors from TOUCH Community Services for a fun-filled session of bowling - strengthening intergenerational bonds through play.

Our volunteers also helped out with the medical supply packing at The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Singapore.

23 May 2025 – Sharing Moments with Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore

To wrap up our Community Week 2025, we partnered with Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) for an exciting excursion for the CPAS Day Activity Centre (CDAC) clients to ride on the Singapore Flyer. For many of the participants, it was their first time aboard and the joy on their faces was unforgettable.

At Singapore Pools, community lies at the heart of everything we do. As we celebrate our 57th year, we remain committed to uplifting lives and creating inclusive experiences - one meaningful initiative at a time. Here's to many more years of giving back, together.
