Singapore Pools was pleased to partner with the Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC) on the Paralympic Fiesta, held from 4 to 7 May 2024 at Our Tampines Hub.
Centred around the themes of Inspire, Empower and Unite, the Fiesta brought together para athletes and the community for a memorable event. The opening ceremony set the tone for 4 days of fun and awareness about inclusive sports for persons with disabilities.
The fiesta featured a diverse range of activities such as the Paralympic Exhibition, Para Sports Try-outs and interactive experiences like a walkathon and the Madame Tussauds Exhibit featuring the wax figure of 5-time Paralympic gold medallist, Yip Pin Xiu.
Another highlight of the event was the unveiling of the official 2024 Paralympic theme song, “March On”, performed live by ART:DIS artist Sky Shen. Produced in collaboration between Singapore Pools and ART:DIS, this anthem serves as a heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary journeys of our Paralympians and para athletes, aiming to uplift and inspire both athletes and spectators alike. The accompanying music video, featuring our para athletes, is now available on YouTube and Spotify now!
Furthermore, Reddentes Sports, with the support of Singapore Pools will also be producing a series of short films showcasing the journey of the para athletes, their goals and aspirations for the upcoming Paralympic Games. Keep an eye out for the series starting September 2024, scheduled to be broadcasted on out-of-home channels and digitally.
In conjunction with Singapore Pools' Community Day, over 140 staff also volunteered their time to oversee game booths and activities, including the walkathon and festive walk. Singapore Pools would like to extend our best wishes to our Paralympians as they prepare to compete on the world stage. We admire their strive for excellence in doing Singapore proud.
